just curious... poll for all you Mama's!!

I was thinking tonight about pregnancy and birth and the high rate of medical intervention for pregnant women these days. I was trying to think of any women I know who did not have pitocin or cervidil given to them either for induction of labor or during labor for some reason. And it was weird, I couldnt think of any one. And I know alot of people... interesting.

So I thought about hosting a little poll over here on the right side for any and all women who have given birth in a hospital. If you would please satisfy my own curiosity about this, please take the poll!

I myself have been given pitocin in all three labors.
1st was a medical induction due to PIH with HELLP syndrome and pitocin was used.
2nd was given pitocin because labor "stalled"
3rd was a medical induction and given pitocin due to severe HELLP syndrome

So twice I would agree it was medically indicated for the safety of the mother, my organs were in jeopardy of shutting down if I didnt deliver soon. And once it was to speed up labor only 2 hours after I was admitted to the hospital (before my water was broken), so in my estimation completely unnecessary. Had I been allowed to rest and labor my body would have figured it out.

I was only given pit once, with Lincoln, because my labor stalled after they broke my water. Looking back, it was only about 20 minutes or so after my epidural kicked in, so it's tough to tell if I was having a weird labor or if the epidural stopped things up.
