Christmas in July

This past Christmas my kids were bestowed (at my suggestion) with a great easel for artwork. We hauled it from my grandparents home on Christmas Eve into the back of my SUV, and there it remained until I left on vacation the end of May. Yes, thats right I was lugging around a Crayola Easel in the back of my car for lets see here...5 months. I'm all about being on top of things as you can tell.
After the easel came into the house, it ended up in the hall closet where it remained until today. Another two months in the closet.

So, today after the kids' nap, ( OH! I watched a GREAT movie while they were asleep, "premonition" with Sandra Bullock. Good movie. Rent it!), I enlisted the kids' help in picking up the plethora of toys and shoes and miscellaneous kid junk from around the house, and promised once the house was picked up we would open up a present.

Apparently they had completely forgotten about the easel all together.

After the cleaning frenzy I drug the box out of the closet and set it up. It was easy to put together, no tools and only required some common sense for assembly, which thankfully I had on hand today.
I grabbed the art supplies and the kids went to town. It was really fun to watch and they had a blast. At least 30 minutes of creative fun was had. Yay!

Mr. Prepared for Battle... he wields a marker in one hand and a sword in the other
He is becoming great at his "faces", he now includes eyebrows and cheeks.

Jillian is the master scribbler, thankfully no marker on the wall today
