In less than two weeks now, the father of my children will be returning home for an 18 day break from his tour in Iraq. If you would have asked me a year ago if I would have been looking forward to this visit, I would have been shocked that he was actually even visiting us as we were not even speaking one year ago.

My oh my, what a difference a year makes. And what amazing surprises God had in store for me over this past year.

It's a long and wonderful story, and someday I will sit down and detail out exactly how everything fell into place, down to the very detail. But the readers digest condensed version of the story is this:

God has healed my heart and given me hope.
I chose to forgive and remain open to whatever God's will is for me.
God has restored my ex-husband, the prodigal son, into a brand new creation in Christ Jesus, which in itself is a miracle to behold.
In two weeks the man I hope to again spend the rest of my life with will be here in the flesh.
A man who a year ago,I never thought I would want to ever see again.
And now I am counting down the hours...
and am anxiously anticipating the start of our brand new beginning.

Shhh... the kids don't know yet. They will once it is "official"... we can't wait to tell them.

I never in a million gazillion years thought the Lord would do what He has done here in my life. It is more than I could have asked or dreamed of, and am overwhelmed that he has chosen to use our lives as an example of His redeeming power and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit.

MELISSA I PRAY FOR YOUR EVERY DESIRE TO BE FULFILLED IN THIS SITUATION! I PRAY THE LORD WOULD GO BEFORE YOU AND BE YOUR STRENGTH AND SHIELD...NO MATTER WHAT OTHERS BELIEVE, OUR FAMILY IS A LIVING TESTIMONY TO WHAT GOD CAN DO IN TRANSFORMING LIVES. TRUE FORGIVENESS AND RAW REPENTANCE BRING SUCH FREEDOM THAT WORDS CAN'T DESCRIBE.
WITH LOVE, JILL
